Coding Contest

RPIIT Mozilla Club conducted a coding contest on 26th March. The contest was 2hr 50 min long. It consisted of 9 questions- 4 MCQ type while 5 of them were programming questions. A total of 127 programmers participated,

The contest was conducted on Hackerearth platform in association with RPIIT Hackerearth Club.
We plan to host more such events in future.

Coding & Interaction Event

RPIIT MOZILLA CLUB will be organizing a CODING & Interaction to Mozilla Products events in the second-third week of March. The main focus of the event would be to interact with the fellow members & new students & to promote mozilla products. The event would also focus on promoting RPIIT Mozilla Club among students & encouraging more students to be part of the CLUB.

We would also try to promote the use of Open Source Languages for coding ventures. There would also be a coding contest in which we expect a attendance of about 120+ members. The winners would be provided with interesting prizes. The session would be concluded with an on the spot Technical Question Session, the winners of which would also be provided with exciting prizes.

Firefox Student Ambassadors

Individuals who are passionate about Mozilla and raise awareness about the many benefits of Firefox & other Mozilla products – especially Firefox OS!
WHO WE ARE
Creative and resourceful, Student Ambassadors lead campaigns and projects at their colleges and in their communities to encourage others to contribute to Mozilla (and utilize our products). Together, Firefox Student Ambassadors play a large role in helping to improve the global experience of people on the Web.

  • Promote Firefox for Desktop and Android
  • Support the successful launch of Firefox OS in communities (and campuses!) around the world
  • Educate others about Mozilla’s mission

Mozilla Introduction Event

RPIIT Mozilla Club organized Introduction to Mozilla Event on 19th October 2015. This was the first event of the club. The club is now formally inaugurated.
The main aim of the event was to enroll new FSA’s & to promote Firefox for Windows 10.
The session started with basic introduction to Mozilla Foundation (details about Mozilla Corporation was also included), Open Source Foundation.
Session was also organized for new FSA registration & we managed to enroll 10 new FSA’s.
There were different events like Question Round (where audience can ask questions about Mozilla Foundation & its ventures).
Audience was also made aware about the difference between Open Source & other Software(proprietor) – there were made aware that open source software does not means FREE software.
Faculty members also participated actively.
We managed to Install Firefox on 5 Laptops with Windows 10, We also installed Firefox on 58 lab computers(OS- Windows 7).
The session was concluded with distribution of goodies to winners of various interactive events.

RPIIT Mozilla Club- Inauguration

We would like to inform all the students that we will have RPIIT Mozilla Club Inauguration ceremony on 13th Oct at our Campus.
The Primary focus of this function would be
–> to mark the beginning of Mozilla Club
–> to promote open web
–> to introduce about Mozilla Firefox & Thunderbird
–> Introduction to Web Security & Privacy
–> Promoting Firefox for Windows 10.
